It is a must to visit its wonderful boulevard with palm trees, the old town with its attractive café terraces and tapas bars, the castle of Santa Barbara from which you have awesome views over the city and the coast, the harbour with its restaurants and leisure activities, the Cathedral of San Nicolas as well as the archaeological museum MARQ.

Recommendable trips: Tabarca Island (11 miles from Alicante), Elche - the City of Palms with its palm tree garden Huerto del Cura (aprox. 17 km from Alicante) and typical spanish villages like Altea and Guadalest.
The region of Alicante is one of the biggest celebrations of San Juan, known as 'Las Hogueras de San Juan' (Bonfires of St John) officially declared as “of International Tourist Interest”. It always takes place in June.
Alicante offers numerous flea and street markets, like Campoamor, situated near the plaza de Toros. It is the most popular one.
